We are happy to introduce Tribute Puppy – BOAZ! BOAZ is named in honor of Cpl. Monroe Boaz, USMC. Cpl. Boaz served with the Headquarters and Service Company, 23rd Marines in New River, NC and was subsequently transferred to Headquarters and Service Company, 25th Marines before deploying overseas with the 4th Marine Division. In June of 1944 Cpl. Boaz landed on Saipan as part of Operation Forager and in 1945, he served in Operation Detachment where he landed on Iwo Jima and served for 40 days where he witnessed the raising of both flags on Mt. Suribachi. Cpl. Boaz eventually retired to his home in Hilton Head, SC. He was married for 58 years and has 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Cpl. Boaz was an original member and active in the Moss Creek Marines. We are grateful to the Moss Creek Marines for this wonderful tribute!
