Sol served in the US Army for four years, working in Intelligence. While he was on active duty, his personal life turned traumatic. This trauma, combined with his service experiences led to a diagnosis of PTSD. He experiences flashbacks, is hypervigilant and often irritable. While he has a supportive and loving wife and children, he recognizes that they cannot always provide the level of assistance and comfort that a trained Service Dog can provide.
Sol and SERGEANT, a Golden Retriever, met in June 2022 and their journey together began! SERGEANT will help Sol by watching his back, as he is always on high alert. He will anchor when he is anxious, and alert him to rising panic levels. These two are a great team and we cannot wait to see their continued progress!
