While serving in the USMC, Chris was diagnosed with Bipolar 1. He has a hard time going out in public alone, and cannot comfortably be in a store for more than 10 minutes. This causes him to avoid people and places. He also experiences flashbacks, lacks focus, and has trouble sleeping. Chris believes a Service Dog could help him stay calm when he is out in public, and give him the confidence he is lacking to trust the world once again. He remains positive that he will overcome the odds, and feels a Service Dog will be the help he needs to get him there.
Chris met CRIMSON, a smart and playful red Lab, in November 2020. CRIMSON will help Chris as he navigates daily life, and learns to re-engage society. She will anchor to Chris’ rising anxiety levels, interrupt negative behaviors, and will provide deep pressure therapy to lower cortisol levels. We are thrilled to have this team as part of our paws4people family!
