Ed is diagnosed with Bipolar 1 disorder. As a certified peer support specialist, he was able to help others by sharing his lived experience, but soon recognized that he needed additional help himself. Ed often battles bouts of depression that leave him wanting to self-isolate at home, and this has caused his relationships to feel strained, as he no longer finds enjoyment in activities he once loved. He is hopeful to get back into peer support work, and believes having a Service Dog will provide the unconditional support system and increased confidence he’s currently lacking to make those goals a reality!
In January 2023, Ed met a fun loving Lab named ARROW. Together, these two can take on the world! ARROW will help Ed by paying attention in public places and interrupting negative behaviors. ARROW will also help with medication reminders. We are excited to watch this team grow together!
