About

On 9/11, Col. Deborah Shea was assigned to the Pentagon. In the aftermath of that attack, she was severely injured, and did not regain consciousness for 4 days. Over the course of her 30+ year career in the Army, she has found herself in many situations that have caused bodily harm. These injuries have left her with mobility issues, and she is also diagnosed with PTSD and TBI. Deborah enjoys the company of others and being in social settings, but finds that her mobility due to neck and back injuries holds her back from fully enjoying life!

Deborah met her new best friend, CANNON, in June 2023, and they have been inseparable ever since! CANNON aides Deborah by retrieving items that are out of her reach, and braces as she transitions on uneven terrain. He anchors to her anxieties and alerts her to people approaching from behind, lowering her startle response and allowing her to feel more at ease in public places! CANNON is influential in allowing Deborah to lead a full and fulfilling life, and we couldn’t be more proud of the hard work this team has put in!
