About

As a veteran of Operation Desert Storm, Kosovo and Afghanistan, plus 26 years of Army life, it became the only life that Jeff knew. In July 2007 while in Afghanistan, a teenage suicide bomber drove a car into Jeff’s Humvee door and it exploded. That incident caused most of the pain, PTS and TBI-related issues that Jeff endures daily. He spent 10 months in Walter Reed recovering and went home a different person. He lives with PTS, TBI, the loss of an ear drum (requiring hearing aids), chronic pain throughout his body and a below the knee amputation of his right leg.

In July 2016 Jeff met RANGER! RANGER will be of great assistance to Jeff. He will provide help when he gets stressed in public or driving. He will alert Jeff to the phone ringing, alarm clock and noises in general that Jeff sometimes does not hear. RANGER will also retrieve items and provide assistance with carrying items for Jeff.

RANGER is an Honor Puppy named in honor of PFC Thomas Michael Sarwark, U.S Army.
