Our last Honor Litter puppy, and only little girl will be named SCHALL in honor of James E. Schall, Jr. James was a graduate of the United States Military Academy, class of 1961. He served as an advisor with MACV in Go Cong, Viet Nam in 1966 and 1967. After returning from Viet Nam, Jim was the Executive Officer of the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Artillery, and Honest John Rocket Battalion in Ft. Hood, TX. He also served an unaccompanied tour in Korea assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 76th Artillery at Camp St. Barbara, as a special weapons officer of I Corps Artillery. He was a battery commander in the 1st Battalion, 81st Artillery in Neu Ulm Germany, and then he served as an analysis officer of the Pershing Operational Test Unit in Heidelberg, Germany. In 1976, he accepted a Civilian Engineer position at the Ballistics Research Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD in the Vulnerability/Lethality Division. He retired from Civil Service in 1991, and lived at home with his wife Judy enjoying golf, traveling and playing bridge until his death in 1999. SCHALL will be trained in honor of this great man and will go on to serve others in his memory.
