Kennel Tech Training Program

paws4people® is seeking motivated and responsible individuals to assist in caring for the youngest paws4people
in–training Assistance Dogs at our headquarters’ Puppy Development Center (PDC) in Castle Hayne, NC.
Position Details
-
Cleaning and sanitizing of crates, toys, food dishes, enrichment items, whelping room (as needed), STIM room, and other kennel rooms.

Assist with cleaning, packing, and unpacking of paws4people vehicles utilized for puppy outing transport.

Assist with other general cleaning tasks within the PDC that may include: laundry, vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping.

Grooming, bathing, and providing nail trimming for puppies, dams, and adult program dogs as needed.

Preparing and dispensing food (and medications when necessary), adhering to individual puppy diets and potential training tasks associated with meals.

Assist with implementing proper paws4people commands and etiquette.
paws4people® Applicant Eligibility Requirements to Apply for Kennel Tech Training
- Must have a current Driver’s license.
- Must successfully pass a background check & drug screening.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, & time management skills.
- Must be able to safely lift 60 pounds. Employees should seek assistance when lifting dogs or objects weighing more than 45 lbs.
- Must be able to remain on one’s feet, standing, walking, bending, and/or stooping for extended periods.
- Prior dog handling, training and/or husbandry experience are preferred, but not required.
