8 JUN 2015- Our next Tribute Puppy will be named SONKA. This Tribute Name has been chosen to honor Cpl. David Sonka, USMC. Cpl. Sonka fulfilled a life-long dream when he enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school. He quickly found his talent and passion as a military working dog trainer. He completed his first deployment paired with MWD Falco in Afghanistan. He then volunteered for a second deployment, newly paired with a Multi-Purpose Canine named Flex. Both David and Flex were killed in action on May 4, 2013, while conducting combat operations in Farah Province, Afghanistan. . In his free time, David enjoyed running, camping, and having BBQs with his family. We are honored to Remember Cpl. Sonka and Flex by naming SONKA in their memory and all she will accomplish changing someone’s life when she grows up.
