Master Firefighter Spencer Rowell is employed with the Fayetteville Fire Department, which is often called out to high-stress and traumatic calls. After learning about the work Crisis Response Dogs were doing in Wilmington, he knew that he wanted to be a handler for his department.
Together, LUCY and Spencer will work daily to improve the mental well-being of first responders within their department. LUCY will provide crucial support to first responders, helping them decompress after difficult calls and lowering anxiety levels. She will help mitigate stress, both at the station and on the scene of emergencies, and overall boost morale at the Department.
