DONNA has been placed with The Cain Family, and will reside in North Carolina.
Specifically, DONNA will be an Emotional Support Dog for Nicholas, who has been with paws4people since 2014. Nicholas said goodbye to his first paws4people Dog, SHAW, in 2024.
In his teenage years, Nicholas experienced a brain bleed that left him with the residual effects of a TBI and significant mobility limitations. DONNA works in-home with Nicholas to retrieve items, open/close cabinets and doors, and provide deep pressure therapy when he is feeling anxious or depressed.
Since the loss of his first dog SHAW, Nicholas is very appreciative to have a companion in-home who is dedicated to his well-being and can allow him independence from his parents. Nicholas’ father Roger, has a paws4people Service Dog DAZA, who has become a wonderful playmate for DONNA during their downtime.
