Lieutenant Josh Baltz is employed with the City of Wilmington Fire Department. He was part of the initial group who founded their K9 Crisis Response Team. Josh has been able to witness paws4people Facility Dogs breaking barriers built by First Responders, and knows firsthand the difference they have made on the Department. After being on the receiving end of some of the unconditional love that a Facility Dog can provide, Josh knew he wanted to be a handler for C-shift rotation.
Together, JETHRO and Josh will work together to help battle the mental health stressors that firefighters face every day in their line of work. JETHRO will help personnel as they process emotions from tough calls and will be there to support the community through difficult and traumatic situations.
