Kate was diagnosed with relapsing, remitting MS 19 years ago. Before diagnosis, she was a very active person who loved to travel, spend time outdoors, hiking, and gardening, and
regularly went to the Theater. MS affects everyone differently. Among other symptoms, fatigue and balance issues created a major challenge for her in her daily life. Kate’s first
service dog, Provolone, changed her life by being by her side 24/7 and providing mobility, stability, and balance support. While he is enjoying his well-deserved retirement now, Kate
is hopeful that a new companion will give her the same sense of security and independence.
HERO met Kate in Spring 2026! HERO will help Kate by bracing to provide stability – both on
uneven terrain and when changing elevation. HERO will also push buttons to help with
opening doors and will retrieve items out of Kate’s reach. With HERO by her side, Kate is
looking forward to a fulfilling, independent life!
