A series of traumatic events during Daron’s early childhood shaped his worldview, and led to his diagnosis of PTSD. This leaves Daron feeling scared and overwhelmed, and often affects his daily life. Tasks that are taken for granted by Daron’s peers tend to be more difficult for him to complete on his own. He has taken up homeschooling and stopped participating in sports he once loved. Daron’s mom, Beth, knows that her sweet and loving son is in there, and is hopeful that the love of a Service Dog will encourage Daron’s confidence to flourish!
Daron started working with CATALINA in the Fall of 2024. CATALINA will help Daron by interrupting negative behaviors, and will anchor to his anxiety, allowing him to focus on the positives of a situation, and bring his anxiety back down. CATALINA will also provide deep pressure therapy to help Daron as he processes difficult situations. The sky is the limit for this young team, and we can’t wait to see what they will accomplish together!
