Benson is a medically complex young boy with unique needs. His mom, Stephanie, is very hands-on, providing much of his daily care due to the delicate nature of his multiple diagnoses. Benson and his family participate in several therapies, including equine therapy, beach and water therapy, and adaptive paddleboarding. Still, they believe that adding a service dog will provide invaluable care, enhance their independence, and allow Benson to participate in more community activities!
In the spring of 2026, PORTER began working with the Huth family! He will spend his days with Benson, retrieving items for Benson’s care that are out of their reach, responding as Benson pulls through a seizure, and alerting Mom when additional medical attention is needed. Having a second set of eyes will allow Mom peace of mind to safely navigate the day-to-day, while knowing that PORTER has Benson’s back!
