When Anlon was born, he was discovered to have a one-of-a-kind genetic makeup, specifically an unbalanced translocation of partial trisomy 18 and partial trisomy 21. As the only individual in the world with his chromosomal abnormality, doctors were unable to predict what his future would look like. Anlon has difficulty with transitions that most people would take for granted. Changes in light patterns and walking over thresholds are major obstacles for him, and he needs assistance with walking to provide better stability. He is also non-speaking, but still able to communicate through assistive technology. His parents want to see him live life to the fullest, and believe that a Service Dog will help him on that journey. Mom and Dad are most excited to see the bond of friendship grow between the two of them on their small family farm, Chartreuse Acres.
Anlon met MINNIE in 2024, and she made her mark as his new best friend! MINNIE will help Anlon by bracing to provide stability when they are walking. She will also provide sensory tactile pressure and interrupt negative behaviors when he is presenting in a hyperarousal state. This will provide Anlon with a place to focus his attention when he is unable to communicate what he needs, knowing she loves him unconditionally!
