Craig has spent close to 40 years in service to his country, in both the Army and Army National Guard, as well as some time spent with the Federal Government. During his career, he has experienced several traumatic events that have led to his diagnosis of PTSD. Craig often becomes overwhelmed and struggles to maintain a calm demeanor, due to frequent thoughts of past events. He is also unable to get a restful night’s sleep due to nightmares that plague him. While Craig has a wonderfully supportive family, he believes that having a Service Dog will be the missing link in getting his life back, giving him the confidence he is lacking to go about every day life with the ones he loves!
Craig and ABE are a dynamic team that began working together in the Fall of 2024! ABE will help Craig by paying attention in loud and crowded places, to minimize his hypervigilance. He will also interrupt negative behaviors, retrieve items out of Craig’s reach, and will provide deep pressure therapy as Craig processes anxious situations. Together, there is nothing these two cannot do!
