Beth experienced trauma in childhood and adolescence connected to alcoholism in her family, as well as her own addiction as a teenager. As a Pastor, she has spent much of her recovery time and adulthood caring for others and making a difference in her community. However, her focus on others has caused her own well to go dry. She realized she needed to put herself first and decided to look at a Service Dog as the next step.
Beth started working with CATALINA in the Fall of 2024. CATALINA helps Beth by interrupting negative behaviors, anchoring to her anxiety, and lowering her cortisol levels. CATALINA also provides deep pressure therapy and helps Beth with item retrieval and a brace when she needs help getting up.
