Nick is a Vietnam veteran, who served in the Army. He was diagnosed with PTS in 1985. Along with PTS he suffers from hearing loss and joint problems. He thought he was able to”handle” his PTS until 2014 when his best Nam buddy died from Agent Orange exposure and he could not visit him due to his own health problems at the time causing thoughts of survivor’s guilt to resurface. Nick experiences flashbacks, nightmares and bouts of anger and frustration. He stays hypervigilant at times, especially at night.
EMBRY and Nick met in December 2017! EMBRY will assist Nick by alerting him to people walking up behind him, anchoring when he is anxious and behavior/nightmare interruption.
