Brett was medically retired from the Army in 2016 after 13 years of service. He was a Staff Sergeant. He is diagnosed with Arrythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia (ARVD), a heart condition that can lead to blackouts due to tachycardia. He has an ICD implant to shock him if this happens, or if his heart rate gets too high or low. He experiences anxiety over ARVD episodes that lead to his heart being shocked back into rhythm. He has been diagnosed with PTSD as well.
In December 2017 Brett met URBAN!! URBAN will help Brett by alerting when his heart rhythms cause him to black out, so he can get medical attention. He will also help by anchoring when Brett is nervous and behavior interruption. URBAN will help Brett feel normal again and help him bridge the gap caused by PTSD with his wife and children.
