Christopher Hoover, USAF (ret.)

Christopher retired from the USAF after 20 years of service. He deployed multiple times to Iraq, and experienced small arms fire and multiple bombings. He is diagnosed with PTSD. This has caused Christopher an inability to trust people, and his surroundings. He is hypervigilant, and scans for possible treats constantly. He has trouble in crowded places, and often leaves early. He often experiences flashbacks, causing him to avoid people and places he once enjoyed. He also has problems sleeping. Christopher hopes that having an Assistance Dog will give him the confidence he is lacking to reintegrate into society and help him feel comfortable in public once again.

When Christopher met SUMTER in March 2019, we knew these two were meant for each other! SUMTER is a Goldador who will help Christopher by anchoring to his anxiety while out in public, as well as alerting him to people coming up behind him. This will allow Christopher to be present with his family, making lasting memories once again. SUMTER will also help by waking Christopher from nightmares. With SUMTER by his side, there is nothing that Christopher cant do.
