paws4people is participating in a multi-year study with the Duke Canine Cognition Center led by Brian Hare, PhD. Dr. Hare is an associate professor of Evolutionary Anthropology at Duke University and a member of the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience, which is a division of the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences.
Through a series of games and observations, Dr. Hare and his team of researchers are studying how the mental abilities of dogs develop. The goal of the research project is to better identify the best dogs to assist people with disabilities.
