Dr. Nolan Bodah is the owner and lead dentist at CarolinasDentist.com in Wilmington, along with being an avid dog-lover. After reading an article in a dental magazine about another paws4people dental team, he was immediately inspired, which prompted his research of what it takes to bring a facility dog to his very own practice. It is no secret that many patients experience high dental anxiety, and an overall fear of the dentist – Dr. Bodah saw a facility dog as the perfect solution to this. The hope is the calming presence of a dog in the office will help alleviate many of the common triggers that spark patient anxiety, helping to build a more relaxed and trusting environment where the doctor to patient relationship can thrive.
WAYNE became part of the CarolinasDentist Wilmington family when he started working with Dr. Bodah in Summer 2022. He has learned so much already and will continue to work each day to help reduce patient anxiety by cuddling them as they receive treatment if the patient so chooses. Additionally, his bright and positive energy will be distracting to an anxious patient, all while providing unconditional love and compassion. “WAYNE’s World,” as the office has already lovingly nicknamed him, will allow patients to be at ease in an already awesome dental environment.
