an excerpt from the “Because You Dream” book:
Perhaps the best memory we have of Terry and Kyria both happened on June 2nd, 2010. That day our son Jack had a hemispherectomy at Duke hospital. That is quite a radical surgery and disconnects the 2 brain hemispheres.
Terry and Kyria, as well as Susan Ivancovich came to visit us at the Ronald McDonald house the night before the surgery. Their love and support helped us at a very frightening time with our little one. The next day, they stayed with us the entire time Jack was in surgery and took CAYLIE until the next morning so we could both be with Jack in ICU. They are both loving and caring and live a life of service to others.

This is a great excerpt and I would love to hear more about it. Both Terry and Kyria are amazing people and put so much effort into the work they do (including teaching our assistance dogs class at UNCW!) I’m glad to have read this story and I can’t wait to read more.
